Pastoral work
Since its founding, the FMHM has continually supported the process of evangelization in, which is principally accomplished by the local churches. Values are to be transmitted; the faith in the community transgressing age groups is to be strengthened, leading to a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, the son of God and savior of the world. In this way the activities of the Catholic Church in the communities along the Dique-canal are carried out.
The pastoral work of the FMHM has a special significance, as all the other areas of work are based on Christian values and activities, which reflects in our social and institutional work as well as in our actions in the community. We act on the assumption that nothing can be given, which one does not possess. The parish allows us to give and to devote ourselves to its service and serves not only as the foundation, but also the roof of the FMHM, upon which the founder Sister Herlinde Moises always attached great importance.
In January 1984 the prayer group for grown-ups was founded, named after Saint Francis of Assisi. The group is supported by the pastoral community of Pasacaballos and meets once a week in the precincts of the FMHM, to read the bible and pray. Furthermore, Sister Herlinde also founded three youth groups for children between the ages of 4 and 12.
